Make Your Appointment With The Doctor

Doctor Who series 9 is back on BBC, and this season is already shaping up to be full of intrigue, mystery and epic plots.  Beware of spoiler alerts!

A few months ago, our superstar nerd, Hugo, wrote a review on how he on-boarded to Doctor Who and why you should be watching this icon of Science Fiction.  In case you didn’t heed his advice back then, tuning into Doctor Who now would be a wise decision.  Series 9 has been packed with references to Who history, Doctors old and new, and filling in the blanks to answers Whovians have asked for decades. So, whether you’re a seasoned Whovian or have never watched an episode, I’d strongly encourage you to check out the new episodes on BBC America or The Space Channel (for you old school kids who still have cable. There’s never been a better time to be a Whovian!

Screen-Shot-09-27-15-at-06.37-PM-001We’re only two episodes into the new series, and already the plot has been dramatic, full of doom and downright juicy. Daleks are craving blood;  Mistress Missy seems to be playing both sides; Davros is revealed as the creator of the most loathsome creatures in the universe;  and SUNGLASSES are replacing the sonic screwdriver ?Huh? Didn’t see THAT coming.

The first two episodes have been full of phenomenal acting (hello with the feels already!), stunning effects and superb writing. One interesting point is that usually Who features isolated episodes. However, it appears Series 9 is going to have two-part pair episodes, allowing some continuity. Apparently thiscoming Saturday airs the first of two episodes that Steven Moffat proclaims are among the scariest ep’s of Who ever. Need I say more? I trust you’ll be tuning in with us Saturday night. Let us know what you think after you’ve watched. Until next time, Whovians,

Live long and prosper!
